We are good story writers. On Fridays we publish our best story for the week. Here are this week's stories.

Week 5

New children are joining Room 10 almost daily. By the end of this week we will have 13 children in the class.

This week we are learning the sounds 'h' and 'r' and the words 'go' and 'going'. We are also starting to become more independent with our story writing as we can write the sounds we know. We will publish more of our stories at the end of the week.

In maths we are learning how to play games such as Snakes and Ladders and Murtles 5 to help us with our adding up and number identification. We have been learning different ways to make 5.
We like using lots of different equipment when we are doing addition.

We are also learning ways to make friends and to be a good friend.

Week 4

Room 10 has had another busy week. We have learnt the sounds for c, k, and e. Our words for this week were me and Mum.
In drama we acted out the story of Little Red Riding Hood. We like drama.
Susannah taught us on Wednesday.
On Friday Charli started school and seven children visited.
At Kowhai Syndicate Assembly Nina received a certificate for being a good role model and Theo received a certificate for using the sounds he knows to say words.

Friday 15 May

Room 10 has had a busy week.

We have been running every day after lunch to get ready for the cross country race which will be on Wednesday 3 June.

On Thursday we went to see Tubby the Tuba. We held Tubby and some of his friends from the orchestra. They were made out of plasticine. One man played a violin and another man played the tuba for us. We liked the plasticine instruments the best.

Today we had buddy class time. Our big buddies are in Room 6. We went outside with them and played sport with them. Ty played rugby with his buddy. Marcus threw and caught a tennis ball with his buddy. We liked meeting our buddies and playing with them.

We are all very tired after working really hard all week.

Week 3

Room 10 now has seven children. Nina started on Monday and Willem and Theo started today.
This week we are learning the sounds 'p' and 'n' and the words 'is' and 'dad'.
Today we had our first ICT lessons with Tania. We are using Starfall (you can access this site from your home computer) and Kidspix.
This afternoon we went to drama with Room 12. Jo takes us for drama. We were learning to move around the room in different ways. Children took turns being the leader. We all enjoyed drama.

Museum Trip

Today we went to the museum. This was our first class trip.

We walked there with Room 12.

Marcus's Grandpa and Samuel's Mum came with us. We did plays of Maori legends. It was fun.

We saw a big sword, which was sharp; two boats; a dead seal; and a triangled shaped stick for fighting.

When we got back to school we had morning tea.

Tuesday 5 May
Yesterday Samuel started school. We now have 4 children in our class.
We have started training for the cross country. We are good runners and we are looking forward to the cross country race in June.
We have been working hard on our homework and reading.

First Week at School

Friday 1 May
Welcome to Room 10.
This is our first week at school. We have 3 children in our classroom. They are Ben, Ty, and Marcus. Our teacher is Teresa.
We have been learning about the letters 's' and 'a' and the words 'I' and 'can'.
We are putting things on our walls to show what we have been doing and to help our learning.
We like to play with the blocks to build parking for the planes.
This morning we learnt some ball skills with the men from Kelly Sports. Ty liked throwing and catching the ball.
